Delaware Travel Guide

Capital: Dover

Delaware, the first state to ratify the Constitution (1787), is small and practical: no sales tax, 45 km of Atlantic beaches, and the Victorian resort town of Rehoboth Beach with its mile-long boardwalk.

The northern third holds the du Pont legacy: Winterthur's gardens, the Hagley Museum's gunpowder mills, and Nemours' mansion. Dover's speedway hosts NASCAR weekends.
