Souss-Massa is Morocco's sun coast: Agadir was rebuilt from scratch after the 1960 earthquake and is now the country's biggest beach resort, with over 300 days of sunshine a year. North of town, Taghazout and Tamraght are the surf villages that put Morocco on the global surf map.
Inland, Taroudant is the 'Little Marrakech' inside 16th-century ramparts, Tiznit is the silver-jewelry town, and the Souss-Massa National Park protects the last wild northern bald ibises at the Massa estuary.
