Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest province: rolling farmland, red sandstone cliffs and warm-water beaches. It is the setting of Anne of Green Gables, and the island leans into it with the Green Gables Heritage Place at Cavendish.

Charlottetown, the capital, is where the 1864 conference that led to Confederation was held. The island's food is its other fame: Malpeque oysters, lobster suppers in community halls, and potatoes in everything. The Confederation Trail crosses the island for cycling.
