Fira is the capital of Santorini, a whitewashed town on the caldera edge 260 meters above the sea. The cable car, the donkey path and the cruise tender port link it to the old harbor below. The Museum of Prehistoric Thera holds the finds from Akrotiri, the Minoan city buried by the eruption.
