Piraeus has been the port of Athens since antiquity, and it is still Greece's busiest ferry hub: nearly every Aegean island crossing starts here. Beyond the terminals, the Mikrolimano yacht marina and the old fishing harbor of Piraiki reward a walk, and the Archaeological Museum holds the famous bronze statues dredged from the harbor. The metro from Monastiraki reaches the port in about 20 minutes.
