Kalavryta is a mountain town in Achaia reached by the famous Diakopto-Kalavryta rack railway, a spectacular 22 km climb through the Vouraikos gorge. Its ski center is one of the largest in Greece. The town also carries the memory of the 1943 massacre, commemorated in the municipal museum and the memorial on the hill.
