Aigio is a coastal town in Achaia on the Gulf of Corinth, with a long seafront promenade below its old upper town. The church of Panagia Trypiti, built into the cliff above the sea, is its landmark and a major pilgrimage site. It is the nearest town to the Diakopto end of the rack railway.
