Delphi Site Guide
The Temple of Apollo at Delphi. Photo via Wikimedia Commons.
Delphi was the center of the ancient Greek world: the sanctuary of Apollo, where the oracle spoke and city-states came for answers. The Temple of Apollo, the theatre above it, the stadium higher still, all on the slopes of Mount Parnassus with the valley of olive trees below.
The museum holds the Charioteer of Delphi, the bronze masterpiece. The modern village of Delphi sits beside the site; Arachova, the stone village and ski town, is 10 km east.
