Da Nang City Guide

Da Nang is Vietnam's most liveable-feeling city: a clean, modern beach city on the Han River, halfway between Hue and Hoi An, with the country's best urban beach and a dragon that breathes fire on weekends. It makes the perfect base for the central coast.
The Dragon Bridge crosses the Han River and breathes fire and water at 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays. My Khe Beach runs for kilometres; the Marble Mountains rise just south; Ba Na Hills and its Golden Bridge (the giant hands) sit in the mountains west. The Son Tra Peninsula keeps wild monkeys and the Lady Buddha.
