Makrinitsa is the balcony of Pelion: a preserved village of stone mansions and frescoed churches clinging to the mountainside above Volos. Its main square offers one of the great views in Greece, over the city to the Pagasetic Gulf. The Museum of Folk Art occupies the Topali mansion in the village center.
