Buea City Guide

Buea sits at about 1,000 m on the flank of Mount Cameroon. It was the capital of German Kamerun and later of British Southern Cameroons, and it remains the gateway for climbs of the mountain.
Each January or February the town hosts the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope, the 38 km stadium-to-summit-and-back race held since 1973. The Tole Tea Estate lies on the mountain's east flank south of town.
⚠ Official travel advisories warn against travel to parts of the Southwest. Check current government advice before planning a trip here.
