Da Lat City Guide
Da Lat, the highland city of pines and villas. Photo via Wikimedia Commons.
Da Lat sits at 1,500 metres on the Langbiang Plateau: pine forests, French villas and flower gardens in air that never gets hot. The French built it as their summer capital; Vietnamese honeymooners inherited it as the city of eternal spring.
Xuan Huong Lake anchors the centre; the art-deco railway station, the flower gardens and the Hang Nga Crazy House fill the days. The night market grills banh can and avocado ice cream. Beyond town, waterfalls (Datanla, Elephant) and coffee plantations dot the plateau.
