Kars

Kars is the Baltic-looking frontier city of Russian-era stone buildings, the base for Ani's ruined medieval capital on the closed Armenian border. Cave-aged Kars kaşar cheese and the winter horse-sleighs on Çıldır Lake are the local signatures.
