A UNESCO-listed city of pink stone, built into a ravine on one of the world's great silver strikes. The baroque cathedral, the Cerro de la Bufa viewpoint reached by cable car, and the Mina El Edén mine tour are the highlights. Its steep callejones are made for wandering.
