A Pueblo Mágico of grand colonial mansions in the foothills of the Sierra Madre, built on silver wealth. Each January the Festival Alfonso Ortiz Tirado fills the town with opera and song. The surrounding Sierra de Álamos reserve is rich in tropical deciduous forest.
