Vathy is the main town of Ithaca, the island of Odysseus, set deep in a sheltered natural harbor. The town's waterfront of neoclassical houses faces the yachts at anchor. The archaeological museum and the nearby bay of Dexa, where Odysseus is said to have landed, are the Homeric connections.
