Nunavut's capital and only city, on Baffin Island's Frobisher Bay, and Canada's smallest capital city. The name means 'place of many fish' in Inuktitut. It grew from a Second World War American air base, and has no road connection to the rest of Canada: everything arrives by air or summer sealift.
