Edmonton is the festival city: the northernmost big city in North America, with the continent's largest urban parkland in its river valley and North America's largest mall as its famous landmark. Summer brings the Fringe, winter brings deep cold and the ice castles.
Whyte Avenue is the main strip, the Royal Alberta Museum anchors downtown, and the Muttart Conservatory's pyramids glow in the river valley. It is also the gateway to Jasper and the north.
