Littoral is the Atlantic coast: the Wouri estuary, the Sawa peoples and their water culture, and Douala, the economic capital and largest city in Cameroon.
Douala is the country's commercial engine and air hub, known for the 12-metre recycled-metal sculpture La Nouvelle Liberte, the Maritime Museum of Bonanjo, and the Ngondo water festival each December. Inland, the Nkam river drops over the twin Ekom-Nkam falls, where scenes from the 1984 film Greystoke were shot.
