The American West holds the best lift-served skiing on the continent: Colorado's mega-resorts, Utah's powder, Wyoming's Jackson Hole, California's Tahoe. Summer turns the same ranges into hiking country, and the East has its own classics in the White Mountains, the Adirondacks and Vermont.
