Las Vegas Guide

Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world: the 4-mile Strip of casino resorts, each a themed city, plus the old-school neon of Fremont Street downtown. The shows, residencies and restaurants are the real draw; gambling is optional.
The desert is the second act: Red Rock Canyon 25 minutes west, Hoover Dam 45 minutes southeast, Valley of Fire an hour northeast. The contrast is the trip.
