Gallipoli (Gelibolu) is the working town at the mouth of the Dardanelles, but its name belongs to the peninsula across the strait: the WWI battlefields, Anzac Cove and the memorials of the 1915 campaign. Ferries cross to the peninsula in minutes, and the town itself keeps a quiet fishing-harbour feel.
