Turkey protects 54 national parks (millî park), the most recent declared in August 2026, covering 3.3 million hectares from marine reserves on the Aegean to the 3,400-m Cilo and Sat mountains. The system mixes pure nature (Kaçkar, Yedigöller, the longoz floodplain forests) with history: battlefields, Hittite capitals and the stone heads of Nemrut.

Three former parks now sit under separate area presidencies rather than the national park system: Gelibolu (Gallipoli), Göreme (Cappadocia) and Yumurtalık Lagoon. This is the complete current list, cross-referenced with the official register.
