Tapachula

Chiapas's main border city with Guatemala, set in the fertile Soconusco coffee region on the Pacific coastal plain. Coffee fincas in the nearby mountains offer tours and tastings. The Izapa archaeological zone, one of Mesoamerica's oldest sites, sits just outside town.
