A highland colonial city at 2,200 meters, with cobbled streets, amber workshops, and some of Mexico's best indigenous textile markets. The yellow Santo Domingo church and the Na Bolom museum anchor the historic center. It is the cultural capital of Chiapas and a base for Maya villages and canyon trips.
