A remote fishing village of about a thousand people on the Sea of Cortez, midway down the peninsula. Each summer, whale sharks gather at the south end of the bay for snorkeling encounters, and sport fishermen chase yellowtail year round. Sixteen islands in the surrounding biosphere reserve hold sea lions and seabird colonies.
