Cienfuegos is the Pearl of the South: the French-founded port city on its bay, with the Prado promenade and the 19th-century Tomás Terry theatre. It is Cuba's most elegant provincial city after Trinidad. The Palacio de Valle on the Punta Gorda is the landmark.
