National Parks

The Caribbean's national parks protect far more than beaches: the only tropical rainforest in the US Forest Service, the region's highest peak, the world's largest flamingo colony, UNESCO-listed forests and the Caribbean's greatest wetland. Entry is usually a few dollars; go with a guide where the terrain demands it.
Barbados, the smallest of the six islands, has no formal national parks; its protected wild is the Folkestone Marine Park on the west coast. Cuba and the Dominican Republic have the region's biggest park systems.
