Nanaimo

A harbour city on Vancouver Island's east coast, the Island's second city after Victoria. It is famous as the birthplace of the Nanaimo bar, the three-layer dessert square, and hosts the annual bathtub races in the harbour. It is also the main ferry gateway from the mainland to the Island.
